Sleep-Inducing Drinks That You Can Kill Insomnia With

Before you decide to give up and fall into mini-depression on the nights when you can’t fall asleep, you should try some new alternative ways of beating that insomnia that is stealing all your zzzzs and collecting them in the box of unreachable night dreams.

There are certain foods and drinks that affect your brain in a soothing and calming way, so you should definitely try to chase away that annoying insomnia, instead of reaching for sleeping pills or any other chemical or artificial product that can cause health problems.

We’re suggesting you to try the following drinks.

Pink Moon tonic

This gentle and fragile-looking tonic is something perfect! It looks good, it smells magically and it makes you feel enchanted and healed. You need only 5 minutes to prepare it, which makes it suitable for a pre-time relaxing routine.

Ingredients:

  • 180 ml almond milk
  • 120 ml cherry juice, organic or homemade
  • 1 tbsp. maple syrup or an alternative sweetener
  • ½ tsp. ashwagandha powder

Mix the almond milk and the cherry juice and warm on a low heat. Remove from heat, let sit for 3-4 minutes and mix in the maple syrup and the powder. Whisk until smooth and serve in your favorite mug.

Pumpkin Dreamy drink

There are many pumpkin-flavored drinks, but this one is special because it really contains fresh pumpkin, so what’s there to avoid trying it? Nothing!

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups vanilla almond milk, no additional sweeteners
  • 2 tbsp. pumpkin puree from fresh pumpkin chunks, or 2 tbsp. fresh grated and minced pumpkin
  • 2 tbsp. maple or agave syrup
  • 1/3 grated cinnamon stick
  • 3 tbsp. whipped cream
  • 1 tsp. ground walnuts

Add the milk in a small saucepan and warm on medium heat. Cook for 3 minutes and add the pumpkin with 2 tablespoons of agave syrup. Whisk in the grated cinnamon and cook for additional 5 minutes. Remove from the stove and gently whisk in one tablespoon of whipped cream. Serve in a mug and garnish with the rest of the whipped cream and ground walnuts.

The Ayurvedic Sleepy Path drink

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • Pinch of cardamom, ginger and turmeric mix
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tsp. ground hazelnuts

Warm the milk and add in the spices and the walnuts. Cook for 8-10 minutes on medium, and then on low heat, remove from stove and serve in your nighttime mug.
